"The Spring of Llanfyllin" has a premiere date!

Alert the Kingdom! The second book in the Llanfyllin series is coming this month!

A little more than two-and-a-half years ago, I took the plunge into self-publishing and came out with a paperback version of my first novel, Dylan's Treasure. By that point, I had already completed the manuscript for its sequel, The Spring of Llanfyllin. After a year of seeking an agent to no avail, I am once again taking matters into my own hands and preparing for my second publication.

The Spring of Llanfyllin will be available in paperback and as a Kindle ebook on Monday, October 21. As a sneak preview for fans of the first book, as well as any curious passersby, I'll be using my twice-a-week blog posts to preview excerpts from the new book between now and then.

In addition, an all-new, original story based on the "Inktober" art activity prompts will appear here as a chapter-a-day serial beginning tomorrow. I'm keeping the rest of the details under wrap until then; you'll need to stop by daily to follow the story in progress.

In the meantime, here's my sales pitch from my query letters...hopefully it does a better job making all of you want to read the book than it did with assorted New York literary agents!

The Spring of Llanfyllin

Dylan and Siannon Ellesmere are the rulers of Macnylleth, the most remote province in the Kingdom of Llanfyllin. As they and their children settle in for the winter, they are awakened during the first blizzard of the year by an invasion from a fleet of Norse longboats. The Norsemen have not been seen in the British Isles for centuries, but Dylan and Siannon take no chances about their intentions.

As they prepare to meet the invaders, they become separated. Siannon must take command of the people of Macnylleth and lead them over land to the hope of safe haven in a neighboring province, while Dylan is forced to escape by sea with a few brave companions. As they journey throughout their frozen homeland, they find the Norse at every turn, and their only hope is to somehow travel to the capital city of Llanfyllin.

While they fight to survive, they also question why these fierce warriors from the North have risked everything to invade their small nation in the dead of winter. The answer to that question leads to an ancient secret that goes back to the founding of the kingdom, and their only salvation lies in a desperate journey back to Siannon’s home nation of Ireland to find a magical savior even more dangerous than the Norse themselves.

Coming to Amazon via Kindle Direct Publishing on Monday, October 21, 2019!
