“Can’t you take me home?” Siannon asked.

“Yes, but we have to find the passage to our dimension,” Asha said. “I passed through ancient portals that only dragons can traverse to find you. I cannot fly back the way I came. I was following the calling of your mind; no such beacon calls us from Macnylleth.”

“If this world draws upon my memories,” Siannon said, “then we are stuck in my own past, correct?”

“That is the magic that I sense,” Asha said.

“So, to get back to our future, we need to find a portal where past, present, and future come together.”

“You know of such a place?”

“Yes, and so do you,” Siannon said. “You brought me there when we were searching for your offspring. It’s the Celestial Palace of Elven Masters. Can you find it?”

“The is the realm of your memories,” Asha said. “Focus your mind on the memory, and the path to its location will be made evident.”

Osric the magician had called Siannon to this place, a great Elven temple on the edge of a faerie forest, to warn her about the danger of Penwik’s plan and to guide her to Alexandria. Instead of thinking about the place itself, she remembered how Osric looked there at their final meeting, first as a young man, then as her beloved old friend, and her tears fell again as she felt how much she missed him.

“I see it,” Asha said. “You have led us there.”
