They remained in their disguises to descend the servant’s staircase and walk out of the castle. Aidan made them invisible once more for Bryn to levitate them back over the wall of the keep.

They returned to the shelter of the forest, where Aidan cast a light spell with which to read through the book.

“Does it tell you how to find the invisible book?” Beca asked.

“I’m looking,” Aidan said. “It’s slow reading.”

“Does it tell you where to find it?” Bryn asked. “That seems more important.”

“The first part talks about a spell and a potion to create a spyglass that will reveal the book when we find it,” he said. “As to its location, it doesn’t say for certain. It refers to an ancient castle near Edinburgh as a starting point, but beyond that, it’s another mystery.”

“Let’s start with the spell, then,” Beca said.

“That’s going to be a problem,” Aidan said.

“Why?” they asked.

“The primary ingredient is elven moonstone,” he replied. “The only place to find it is Tel’Silderin.”

“The land of the elves,” Bryn said.

“Well, that’s easy,” Beca said. “You make us invisible again, and we’ll go through the portal.”

“We can’t just walk through,” Aidan said. “We’ll have to wait for someone else to go so that the portal is active.”

“Alright,” they said.

“Then we have to appear as elves,” Aidan said.

“Bryn’s glamour spell can do that,” Beca said.

“We’ve come this far,” Bryn said. “Don’t give up now.”
